PLANTS-SKIN
LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2016 / TOP12
Water and soil which can capture moisture are necessities to survive for a plant.
If replacing a plant pot to a human's life, it can be said that it is like a second skin that allows the plant to live.
Drawing inspiration from the traces and marks left by the water on the mortar based plant pots, I used a water permeable plant pot and a special ink called hydro-chromic ink to add color and visualize the water marks.
Human skin shows change due to our health and emotions. If plant pots can communicate the moisture level of the soil, this may be a new method of communication for both of us.
